tapas

As mentioned earlier, Tapas was the go-to meal on most days while in Spain. At this particular restaurant, we ordered "albóndigas en salsa" (meatballs in sauce), "magro con tomate" (lean pork in tomato sauce), and "huevos rotos con chorizo, patatas". Sorry if the Spanish is incorrect - these were the titles on the menu. We liked the meatballs but found the other dishes to be a little too heavy for us. Chorizo sausage is intense... also not the most appetizing thing to look at, but we took a photo anyway. Although, we were happy to try it because it seemed to be a popular item on most menus.

  6. Anonymous - We discovered tapas for the first time in a restaurant in Minneapolis... so, I'm sure you can find it!

Canadian Pie - We didn't see any padron peppers. I don't even know what they are!

Behind the Lashes - The dishes were definitely meat heavy... and the seafood dishes were really greasy. We had salads too, but they were pretty boring.

  12. They were fried peppers sprinkled with salt and it was a little bit spicy when I first tried them in Valencia although when I had them in Barcelona, they were really really spicy and had to send them back to the kitchen.

  13. Mu husband and I were so disappointed with the tapas when we were in Spain! Yours look yummy! All the places we went seemed to have weird seafood dishes or pizza and fries...not what we expected to be on the tapas menu!

  16. I just wrote a post about tapas, which are not actually a type of food as most people think but a way of eating. Anyway, I love love love chorizo, but even more so salchichón which is like chorizo but without the paprika. My bf's parents make their own and it is so yummy.
