visitors from france

November 1, 2011

Recently, our friends, Cécile and Aurélien, came to visit us and we all spent the day wandering around Montréal. Alex has been friends with Cécile since they were babies (he lived in France for awhile) and I met her when we took our first trip to Paris together to attend her wedding to Aurélien, 4 years ago. I was just telling them how I'm pretty sure that I'll probably never attend a wedding as gorgeous as theirs was (it was in a castle!!) in my lifetime.

We grabbed lunch at Piri-Piri, a portuguese rotisserie chicken place (pretty popular in Montreal - it's sooo good!), had some macarons for dessert at La Maison Du Macaron, and visited The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. All in all, I think the day worked out pretty well considering we had nothing planned!

Anything involving a macaroon tower is heavenly in my book!

This sounds like a perfect day. A trip to the museum and some macarons, it doesn't get any better than that. XO

Awww...love the macaron tower in the background. I recently learned how to bake them and can say that it's truly a labour of love for macaron makers! I have more appreciation now for these petit treats (not that I didn't before)! Hope you and Alex are doing well!
