venice canals

Although we had visited Venice the last few times we were in LA (we had some photos taken there around the time we got married), we never made it to the canals. The neighbourhood is known for being a little eccentric and unique. The canals run through the residential area, with a nice walking path, quaint bridges, and interesting houses (including one that was seemingly inspired by the Majorelle Gardens). It's a great place for a stroll with your favourite pal, and even afforded us a requisite Los Angeles celebrity sighting (Matt Stone, of South Park/Book of Mormon fame, if you're curious).
