Fitzgerald Marine Reserve

There's so much to see in the tide pools at Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. I think a lot of people go there in the hopes they'll catch a glimpse of an octopus and we were no exception. How often do you get to see an octopus in it's natural habitat? Unfortunately, none of them came out to play that day. If you're afraid of sea creatures (like I am) this is the best way for you to be able to see some of the same beautiful things you might see while snorkeling. You can check the low tide times, in advance, on the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve website for optimal sea life viewing.

There were so many gorgeous textures and colours that would surface as the water pulled away from the shore - even the rocks were intricate and beautiful. It was a perfect sunny drive down the coast to get to Moss Beach from San Francisco, and a different way to spend an afternoon. - Mina

  4. These photos are so lovely- they remind me of rock-pooling in Cornwall and Devon when I was little - though they were never as beautiful as this!
