San Pedro Valley Park

Before heading to the beach, we went for a hike in Pacifica. I saw a sign, before we entered the park, that said we should watch out for mountain lions. I take those warning signs way too seriously and they terrify me. I recently started watching this awful show called 'I Survived' and one of the episodes was about how a man and his wife survived a "cougar" attack. It definitely didn't help my paranoia about the situation. I have so much fun hiking around California, so I should probably toughen up. My thought is that if you've been warned, and you do it anyway, it's your fault. Is any trail worth being torn apart by a wild animal? Probably not.

Why can't we all just get along? This video (that was filmed on a potato) is still my favourite thing on youtube. Despite this longwinded grievance, I really just want a pet lion to love me as much as Christian the lion loves those two guys that rescued him from Harrods.

I just hope that if I do ever encounter one, I have the presence of mind to follow these instructions. Luckily, on this trip, we only saw a deer and some reptiles... which I can handle. - M

  1. I used to read your blog before when you started to travel the world after you got married. Somewhere along the way I lost this site. Now that I found it again, I cannot believe you live in my neck of the woods now. I see you are enjoying everything the region has to offer. Cannot wait to read the all the posts about the city.
