ice hotel

Alex took me to the Ice Hotel in Montreal's Snow Village, for my birthday, a few weeks ago. We had dinner in the Pommery Ice Restaurant. It was freeeeezing (sitting on chairs made of ice probably didn't help), but a good time anyway! - Mina

  20. Cool! But how was the food and drink? Tasty, I hope. :) I've always wanted to visit one of the places before. Like you, though, I would freeze. I'm ALWAYS cold. How was the night? Stay warm?

  21. Manda - Thanks! I use photoshop.

Andi - These were taken with either a 40mm or 24-105mm.

Dawn - The fondue and dessert were really good. The rest of it was just okay (and it got cold too quickly).

There is no way I would stay the night in this place! I didn't mean to imply that with this post. We just wandered around the rooms before dinner. I would have died. As it was, I spent an hour in bed shivering when we got home. A few hours was more than enough.

  24. I have always wanted to stay there! I think growing up in such a hot climate in Australia and never seeing snow has meant I have a love for cold climates and a fascination with ice and snow.

    They are great photos.

I will get there one day.

  25. Those are amazing images. Although I live in Toronto, I haven't visited the Ice Hotel in Montreal yet. I wonder how people manage to stay overnight without freezing? I don't think I could handle it!

  26. Wow! The pictures of this place do WAY more justice than my imagination ever could. I had heard of the ice hotel, but in my mind's eye I didn't see it as so beautiful and extravagant. It's so amazing to see these great pictures. Thank you so much for the share. I would love to get to stay in this place one day, but it looks so expensive based on the photographs. Perhaps one day for a special occasion.
