el rey del taco

Alex heard about El Rey Del Taco from one of his coworkers who described it as having "authentic" Mexican food. It's definitely the closest we've come to our meals in Mexico City (we still talk about how much we love that place, mostly because of the food, nearly 3 years later). Now, every time we're at Jean Talon market, we make El Rey Del Taco a priority - to share some tacos and get some "homemade" guacamole to go.  - Mina

  2. The color of those chips...not so authentic. Looks so delicious either way! Come to Los Angeles and let's hit up all the best Mex holes in the wall. ;]

  3. Aubrey - Yeah, I don't know what's going on with those chips. There are bright red ones too. But, they are made in house and taste really good.

We've been to LA twice and I'm ashamed to say that our only experience with "Mexican"food is El Pollo Loco, so we'd definitely be down for checking out something less fast food-y.
